Mission statement

i-dontics is a dental teleradiology company dedicated to helping dentists meet the fast-paced, new standards of care in dental radiology and third-party diagnostic software through state-of-the-art cone beam scanners. A long-time leader in dental CT imaging, our services enable dentists to render predictable patient outcomes using the safety and cutting edge benefits of 3-D imaging. Run by dentists for dentists, i-dontics understands what the dental community requires that yields the best results for their patients.

i-dontics History

i-dontics was formed in 2002 as APW Dental Imaging by Drs. Alan A. Winter and Alan S. Pollack, New York dentists with a successful, long-established periodontal/implant practice. This company is the result of their vision of the benefits and potential uses of 3-D digital radiographic technology.

The first i-dontics center was established in mid-town Manhattan, specializing in cone beam CT imaging and image processing services for the local dental community. Then, in 2005, i-dontics expanded with new centers in Millburn, NJ and Brooklyn, NY. A fourth i-dontics center was opened in 2006. Anticipating the need to provide services to a greater number of dentists, and in turn their patients, i-dontics expanded their network by incorporating dentists who already owned a dental CBCT scanner. There are presently 6 Service Providers located in four states: New York, New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina, with more anticipated in the future. All i-dontics Service Providers are linked via a secure, HIPAA-compliant server that enables rapid transport and analysis of high resolution CT scanned images. These images are reconstructed at the processing center in New York City where i-dontics operates a Master Site for SimPlant®. SimPlant™ is a leading pre-operative planning software that integrates data from CT scans to provide precise surgical planning for implant insertion, removal of impacted third molars, analyses of the temporomandibular joint, diagnoses of complex root canal problems, treatment for sleep apnea, and more.
